For dogs and cats only

JULIUS-K9 – The inventor of the dog harness with interchangeable Velcro patches on the chest. IDC Harness is a high-quality dog harness suitable for both home use and working dogs.

Key Features

• Reflective edges and chest strap – One of the most important features of the IDC Harness is that it also functions as a visibility vest. The gray line of the chest strap and the edges of the harness are made from reflective materials to keep your dog visible even from a great distance when walking in the dark.
• Breathable, skin-friendly inner lining: the OEKO-TEX material is produced to the highest international standards.
• Durable buckles – The high-quality buckles of the IDC Harness are carefully tested and verified. They work perfectly in winter and do not break even in cold weather.
• Locking handle – With the new handle fixation option, you can secure only the steel ring, only the handle, both, or neither. With these options, you can minimize the likelihood of the dog getting tangled. This is especially important for hunting dogs, search and rescue dogs.
• Option to attach side bags – Side bags are available in 3L and 4L versions for harness sizes from 0 to 4. A smaller universal side bag IDC is also available. With a capacity of 250 cm³, it is ideal for carrying documents, vaccination cards, mobile phones, and dog treats.
• Flashlight holder – The flashlight holder is made from elastic, high-quality German material, allowing it to accommodate various sizes of flashlights. It can be used simultaneously with the side bags. It is indispensable for search and rescue dogs and service dogs working at night.
• Waterproof coating – Designed to be waterproof, very durable, comfortable, and safe, the IDC Harness is the choice of professional trainers, security personnel, and pet owners.
• Phosphorescent, interchangeable patches with the JULIUS-K9 logo – the first dog harness with Velcro patches from the inventor! Since 1997!

Instructions for use for dogs

Warnings

What to do if the dog escapes from the harness? JULIUS-K9® harnesses are designed for easy use and application. These types of dog harnesses are most commonly used for urban walks or when working with service dogs. However, due to improper use of the leash, size adjustment, or harness adjustment, some dogs may still escape from it. If the leash is accidentally placed in the opposite direction of the harness and pulled over the dog's head, the harness may come off. This can happen if... the harness is set too loosely, the dog starts to move backward and tries to escape, the dog stays behind and is pulled on the leash.

WARNING: Dog harnesses serve for gentle and neck-friendly guiding of the dog on a leash, for holding the dog, and for allowing the owner to restrain it in case of emergency. The dog harness is not a means of coercion!

When standing against the dog, do not pull it towards you on the leash and never drag the dog behind you, as this can lead to injury. Improper leash handling can cause the dog to try to escape. If the dog escapes from the harness in such a case, improper use of the leash may be the reason.

How to walk the dog safely with a harness

If the dog is prone to panic or feels insecure near traffic, it is recommended to use the top handle of the harness to hold the dog. In this case, it is a good idea to use both a collar and a harness together with a double carabiner line during walks. This way, the dog can be guided more securely with one hand, and the collar does not strain the dog's neck if it needs to be restrained suddenly.

The Y-strap or pressure distribution pad that can be added to the dog harness also provides an even more secure and comfortable fit of the harness.

How to adjust the dog harness

The right size and proper adjustment are essential for any type of dog harness. Before the initial use of the dog harness, it is very important to carefully read and follow the instructions for use. For chest harnesses, the belly strap of the dog harness should be adjusted so that only one hand can fit between the inner lining of the harness and the dog's body.
